નવી દિલ્હી: મંગળવારે ચૂંટણી પંચના મુખ્યાલય તરફ માર્ચ કરી રહેલા વિપક્ષી ગઠબંધન ‘ઇન્ડિયા’ (INDIA Bloc)ના નેતાઓ અને પોલીસ વચ્ચે ઘર્ષણની સ્થિતિ સર્જાઈ હતી. મુખ્ય ચૂંટણી કમિશનર (CEC) જ્ઞાનેશ કુમારના રાજીનામાની માંગ સાથે વિપક્ષી સાંસદોએ સાંસદ ભવનથી ચૂંટણી પંચ તરફ માર્ચ શરૂ કરી હતી.

ચૂંટણી પંચની ઓફિસ નજીક આકાશવાણી ભવન અને નીતિ આયોગ પાસે દિલ્હી પોલીસે વિરોધ માર્ચને બેરિકેડ્સ મૂકીને અટકાવી દીધી હતી. આ દરમિયાન લોકસભામાં વિપક્ષના નેતા રાહુલ ગાંધી, કોંગ્રેસના સાંસદ પ્રિયંકા ગાંધી વાડ્રા, સમાજવાદી પાર્ટીના પ્રમુખ અખિલેશ યાદવ અને તૃણમૂલ કોંગ્રેસના સાંસદ અભિષેક બેનર્જી સહિતના નેતાઓ રસ્તા પર જ ધરણાં પર બેસી ગયા હતા.

High drama unfolded at the INDIA bloc march from Parliament Street to the Election Commission headquarters here on Tuesday as Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with some other supporters entered the Akashvani Bhawan premises in a bid to reach the poll body’s office.
The Congress leaders along with other MPs were earlier stopped by security personnel on Parliament Street near Niti Aayog office during their march to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.

વિપક્ષી નેતાઓએ ‘વોટ ચોર, ગાદી છોડ’ જેવા નારા લગાવ્યા હતા અને કેટલાંક નેતાઓ બેરિકેડ્સ પર પણ ચઢી ગયા હતા. પ્રદર્શન વધતાં પોલીસે રાહુલ ગાંધી, પ્રિયંકા ગાંધી, અખિલેશ યાદવ અને ડેરેક ઓ’બ્રાયન સહિતના વિપક્ષી નેતાઓની અટકાયત કરી હતી.

આ વિરોધ પ્રદર્શન પાછળનું મુખ્ય કારણ ‘સસ્પેન્ડેડ ઇન્ફોર્મેશન રિક્વેસ્ટ’ (SIR) પ્રક્રિયા અને મતદાર યાદી સુધારણામાં ગેરરીતિઓના આક્ષેપો છે. કોંગ્રેસ અધ્યક્ષ મલ્લિકાર્જુન ખડગે અને આપ (AAP) સહિતના ઘટક પક્ષોએ ચૂંટણી પંચ પર ભારતીય જનતા પાર્ટીના ઈશારે કામ કરવાનો અને મતદારોના અધિકારો છીનવી લેવાનો આક્ષેપ કર્યો છે.
