Born in 1939 and brought up in Ahmedabad, Prof.Rooshikumar Pandya aspired to teach from a young age. He went on to lecture at various institutions in India and abroad. Millions have heard him on the radio and through CDs. They have also see him on TV and in documentary films.
He left for America in 1964, immigrated to Canada in 1969, and came to India to do executive seminars for Indo-American Society Mumbai, in 1973. In 1981, he left his post as faculty of the Humanities Dept. at John Abbott College, Montreal, closed his management consultancy firm in Canada, became an Indian resident and settled in Mumbai.
In India, he spent his time developing human resource. Prof. Pandya trained over 1,00,000 employees of national, multi-national and fortune 500 companies in assertive management, stress management, negotiation, team building and leadership. He trained executives of companies such as Abbott Pharma, A. Birla Group, BPCL, HPCL, SBI, Unicef, Pfizer Ltd., Ranbaxy, Johnson and Johnson, Oil India, CISCO Systems, General Motors, L&T, ABB, Godrej Soaps, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Castrol, Citicorp/Cosl, Deutsche Bank, Shell, Hindustan Lever, RIL, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, P&G and many more.
His approach towards HRD and management education was unique. He strongly believed that management education in India must be steeped in Indian ethos. His study in Indic disciplines helped him in designing holistic management courses. His seminars motivated the executives to realize and utilize their full potential.
As a passionate student of Indian classical music (sitar), he trained under Padmavibhushan Dr Ali Akbar Khan and Padmabhushan Smt. Annapurna Devi for many years in California and India.
