Frustrated by persisting resistance to the acquisition of land for building the world’s cheapest car, the soft-spoken Ratan Tata, chairman of India's Tata conglomerate, has threatened that he would rather pull out of the Nano project in Singur than risk the safety of his employees.
Do you appreciate Tata’s concerns? Should he move his plant from Singur?
Do you think that violence in Singur is of a political nature?
Should Tata talk to Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, who has declared that she would go ahead with the protest against the project?

August 25, 2008, 4:49 pmIs India's winning 3 medals in Beijing Games herald a new era in sports?
August 21, 2008, 7:07 pm
India's underachievement in olympics exaggerates its athletic/sporting failure.
Despite a population of more than 1 billion, India has won a grand total of 18 Olympic medals (mostly in field hockey) till now including the lone individual Gold Medal won by shooting star Abhinav Bindra.
At Beijing Games, we get very few medals, but still we are satisfied with our performance. Whereas other countries like China has won number of medals. Don't you think that cricket will continue to dominate other games in our country?
Is it true that Indian govt has no proper system to recognize budding young athletes and push them toward an Olympic level?

Oil at $75 per barrel: Does it seems realistic?
August 14, 2008, 2:37 pm
US crude recorded $113.38 a barrel after falling to $112.31, the lowest level since early May. It has fallen more than $30 from a record high above $147 hit in mid-July. Oil demand in the world's top consumer the United States fell by an average 800,000 barrels per day (bpd) on-year during the first half. Many people think slowing US demand is behind the fall in crude prices but a fall in Chinese demand could trigger a far sharper decline.
Do you agree that a slow down in China today would have a more profound impact on the world than a slow down in the US?
As the prices of crude oil have gone down, should Indian govt now reduce the prices of oil products ?
Is there any possibilty of oil prices can be seen at $75 a barrel?

It may be noted that Jammu and Kashmir government had earlier allotted 100 hectares of forest land in north Kashmir to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for creating 'temporary and pre-fabricated' shelters for pilgrims to the Amarnath cave shrine. But the order was revoked which resulted in pro-Amarnath land protests.
Do you think govt has bowed to separatist forces?
What should be possible solution that will allow for a cooling of tempers?

Sorry, You Can’t Abort, says Court
August 7, 2008, 2:49 pm
The Bombay High Court has rejected a petition filed by a Mumbai couple, Niketa and Haresh Mehta, seeking permission to abort their pregnancy in the 24th week as the foetus was detected to have congenital heart blockage, in a case that has sparked a debate over abortion law.
The court, expressing its helplessness in the matter, strictly went by the law which says that a foetus can be aborted after 20 weeks only if there is a fatal risk to the mother and not the child.
Do you support court's ruling?
